Pelynt is a village and civil parish in south-east Cornwall, United Kingdom, situated about 20 miles west of Plymouth between Looe and Polperro. It has a population of around 1,124 (2001 census).
The parish of Pelynt existed at the time of the Domesday Book, when it was valued far higher than nearby Looe for tax.
Many members of the Trelawny family lived in the area, and are commemorated in the local church; Pelynt was the birthplace of Bishop Jonathan Trelawney.
The village has a school, founded in 1882, and a 16th-century inn, The Jubilee. There is an ancient barrow nearby.
