Home baked puddings feature highly on our dessert menu - although lighter options and West Country Cheeses and biscuits are always available too. We have a lovely lounge where guests can make themselves at home in the evenings - it has a large flat screen TV to watch favourite programmes or a DVD and we also have a separate bar where you can round off the evening with your favourite tipple. The location of Mount Edgcombe is ideal. We are set well back from one of the main roads into Torquay - our frontages forms our large car park - so many guests park up their car and either walk or use the excellent public transport to get about during their stay with us. We are situated on a level, tree - lined avenue with the train station and the English Riviera Centre just a few minutes' walk away and a 15-minute walk will bring you to Castle Circus - the heart of Torquay's shopping area. The nearby promenade provides a lovely stroll along the water's edge towards the harbour.

Situated in a peaceful leafy lane, The Charterhouse offers a heated outdoor pool from May to September, tranquil gardens and large private car park. Our delightful gardens are an ideal place to sit and enjoy a summer's evening with a cup of tea or glass of wine and although we are not licensed to sell alcohol our guests are more than welcome to bring their own favourite tipple. All our rooms are individual with shower en suites, although our new Riviera Room and one of our Family Suites also have bathroom en suites with shower cubicle too.
